LUSH Benefit Concert
Please join us
The cello has a real flair for reaching into your soul and pulling out deep emotions. Now...imagine four lovely cellists tugging at your heartstrings with the richest of harmonies, all for the benefit of the children and youth of Alexandra Park.
Make this a reality by joining us on June 22 for a concert by LUSH cellos, singer Janelle VanderWier and guitarist André Vanderstoep at Beit Zatoun, 612 Markham St., Toronto (1 door south of Bloor - at Bathurst subway). There will be a time to meet and mingle and enjoy refreshments at 7:00 p.m., before the concert starts at 7:30. There is no entrance fee, but there is a free-will offering for the work of Alexandra Park Child and Youth Outreach.
Alexandra Park
Child and Youth Outreach
A ministry to children, youth, and families in downtown Toronto, the Alexandra Park Child and Youth Outreach seeks to share the gospel with children and youth in fun ways, to disciple and mentor them, to build positive relationships with them and their families, and to respond in practical ways to needs that arise. Visit the ANCF Toronto web site for more details.
LUSH cellos
Bringing a new slant to the world of cello, LUSH is a group of four cellists breaking away from the classical world. LUSH has been playing to packed rooms and enthusiastic audiences. With playfulness, bravado and a range of emotional flavour, LUSH takes the best of the cello and magnifies it to create their distinctive sound. Together since 2005, the group's four stunningly talented cellists perform a unique repertoire that includes Jazz and Latin standards, Broadway and Popular songs beautifully arranged by founding member Wendy Solomon. See the June 22 benefit concert page for more information about LUSH.
